Second Helmholtz Software Award Results
The winners of the second Helmholtz Software Award have been selected and they just received the good news. This year, 35 proposals from 17 centres were submitted. All entries were evaluated by 14 international experts. On this basis, a committee with representatives from HIFIS, HIDA and the Helmholtz Open Science Office chose the prize winners across the three categories. There were many software solutions with excellent scientific ratings, so the final decision was not easy.
And the winners are:
-
Scientific Originality Prize (Main Award, 5,000 EUR):
CP2K (Quantum Chemistry and Solid State Physics)

Congratulations to all developers and software engineers involved, and thank you for these outstanding software contributions! The Award Ceremony will take place at the upcoming Incubator Workshop on 24 November.
Register your software in the Research Software Directory
Register or update your software project in the Helmholtz Research Software Directory (RSD) today! The RSD allows you to increase visibility of your project and cross-links it with related projects, organisations, contributors and publications. Registration in the RSD is also a prerequisite to take part in the next round of the software award, which, by the way, will be announced in January. It also helps you ensure your software is counted as a research output in the next PoF cycle.
